Unlocking Wellness: My Journey into Ayurveda and Holistic Living by Monika Sharda

Despite being born and raised in the States, Ayurveda has always been a part of my everyday life. Growing up, we had morning routines, leaned on home remedies for various ailments, and paid attention to not only what we ate but when.

I went along with most things because they seemed to work, while rolling my eyes at others (but still surrendering to my mother’s persuasion). But I never gave Ayurvedic principles too much thought.

That is, until my late 20s, when my energy was regularly low, appetite irregular, and allergies worse than ever.

I sought help from an Ayurvedic practitioner, who identified a gut imbalance and also observed that my otherwise healthy aura had dulled. The latter observation struck a chord because I knew I hadn’t been myself lately but couldn’t pinpoint why.

After that visit, I committed to changing what I consumed – not just food, but what I read, listened to, watched, put on my skin, and so on. These changes had a profound impact on my day-to-day well-being.

And that’s when I decided to become an Ayurvedic Health Counselor.

How is Ayurveda Still Relevant?

In today's fast-paced world, we’re all trying to find the right balance between family, career, and personal ambitions. In this constant juggle, the self-care ball usually gets dropped first.

In a world filled with quick fixes and temporary solutions, Ayurveda offers a timeless path to lasting wellness. The word “Ayurveda” literally translates to science of life. In more plain language, it’s timeless wisdom from our ancestors for a balanced and happy life.

What Makes My Coaching Program Unique?

Ayurveda recognizes that true health goes beyond just the physical body – it encompasses mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

What we don’t realize is that there typically isn’t one event that leads to our symptoms. It’s the small daily choices that make or break our mental and physical health.

My one-on-one health coaching program is designed with today’s South Asian women in mind – it’s personalized for each client’s body constitution, but even more importantly, practical for her lifestyle. Through a focus on diet and daily routine, clients learn how they can live more in alignment with their true nature.

I provide guidance and accountability every step of the way, empowering my clients to make lasting changes while creating a deeper connection with our cultural traditions.
