I’m Nimisha Patel, the creative force behind Creative Crafty Mom – a journey into the enchanting world of handmade wonders, motherhood, and the sheer joy of crafting. From as far back as I can remember, creativity has been my constant companion. But it wasn’t until I quit my corporate job to be home for my children that this passion truly blossomed into something magical. Those early crafting sessions with my little ones opened a new world of possibilities.
When I embarked on this small business journey, I knew very little about owning a business but as I grew people started to recognize me as THE Creative Crafty Mom! There was a whole new meaning to this name, a reflection of my life’s most beautiful moments.
Gifting something practical, unique, and sustainable was my goal when I made my very first Ganesha as a gift back in early January 2017. Little did I know that my Ganesha would one day become viral and have the longest waitlist for three years in a row! Each Ganesha is made using anywhere from 150 nails to 400 nails depending on the size. These Ganesha mean so much to me and each one is unique because of the wood I use, hand hammering each nail and stringing it using different color combinations. My Ba also taught me to say a mantra while making these to pass on the blessing so when I work on these Ganesha, I’m enchanting the Gayatri Mantra. Thus far, I’ve made over 150 Ganesha that are in many homes in US, South America, Canada, and India! Taking an average number of nails, that’s over 30,000 nails!
My children have helped me in introducing products not only for gifting but for festivals like Diwali, Raksha Bandana and Christmas. It's pure joy to watch them test, give ideas and help in creating these products. They are my biggest teachers; they see my work beyond what I see and truly keep my creativity flowing. Every day is a blank canvas waiting to be adorned with our imagination and I hope my journey inspires you to embark on your own journey.
